Sherry is the GLBTRT Membership Promotion Committee Chair. She is a Public Library Director in rural Wisconsin. She was chosen as an ALA Emerging Leader in 2012.
Sherry is a pansexual, who is married, has a teenage son, and a lot of “fur babies.” Her hobbies include gaming (MMORPGs), reading, acting, and entertaining. Her passion is making the world a better place and changing lives.
Her goal is to be a positive force in this world. Professionally, she would like to apply her love for freedom, equality, and libraries on a national and global scale. She would love to be ALA President.
If she were an animal, she would be a liger (a hybrid of a male lion and a tigress). I’ll let her explain! “I love warm weather and living near water. I feel that I have the personalities of a liger: I am intelligent, independent, extremely loyal, and a natural leader. True to my dual nature, I also am adventurous, energetic, and passionate. I also love that each liger has unique stripes, no one liger is like another. I take pride in my uniqueness.”
If Sherry could have a dinner party with 5 culturally or historically significant figures, living or dead, she would invite Cleopatra, Samuel Beckett, Gore Vidal, Anderson Cooper, and Leonardo Da Vinci.
