Illinois Senate plan would include LGBTQ history in schools
The Illinois Senate and House Education committees have endorsed a measure that would require all elementary and high schools to teach a unit on LGBT history. If passed, Illinois will be the second state to require this curriculum.
Gender-affirming surgery ‘significantly improves quality of life,’ study says
158 women who have received gender reassignment surgery were followed in a study, and 75 percent showed an improved quality of life. Those whose lives did improve had a support system of family, friends and larger community.
Marquette stands behind ‘Pride Prom’ organizers
Despite an online petition to stop it, Marquette University cited the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ call for an end to discrimination in the Catholic Church, and continues to support the Pride Prom through it’s LGBTQ Resource Center.
