Gawker uncovered an email from the Sony Pictures email leak that occurred a few months ago that shines light on why some movie superheroes continue to be so…non-diverse. The defined character traits of Peter Parker and his superhero alternate Spiderman specifically list that they must be heterosexual, male, and Caucasian unless otherwise agreed to by the Marvel brass.
