“Beauford Delaney and James Baldwin: Through the Unusual Door”, an exhibit at the Knoxville (TN) Museum of Art explores the 38 year relationship between artist Beauford Delaney and author James Baldwin, a friendship that “shaped one another’s creative output and worldview”, and the exhibit tells their story while exploring the “nature of the racial and sexual identity barriers they faced.”
