Tajikistan Registers 367 Suspected Gays, Lesbians in Database
With the help of police and prosecutors, Tajikistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has created a registry of suspected gay citizens in order to forcibly test them for HIV. While homosexuality is not a crime in Tajikistan, this database uses the pretext of public health to continue the governments “deeply homophobic” regime.
Children raised by same-sex parents do as well as their peers, study shows
The Medical Journal of Australia published a three-decade study of children raised in same-sex-parented families and found that the main problem for children of same-sex parents is discrimination. The timing of this study’s publication is significant in the face of the current same-sex marriage vote happening in Australia.
