Advocacy Groups File Ethics Complaint Against Kentucky Judge Refusing Adoptions to Same-Sex Couples
Judge W. Mitchell Nance is under scrutiny for not recusing himself from adoption proceedings involving LGBT+ people. Lambda Legal, ACLU of Kentucky, American Civil Liberties Union national, and the Fairness Campaign are all calling on the Judicial Conduct Commission to remove the judge from office.
5 Countries Have Offered to Help Gays Fleeing Chechnya. The U.S. is Not Among Them.
Those fleeing torture in the southern Russian republic of Chechnya will find five countries assisting in placing them. The United States is not among them. Buzzfeed reports that the State Department indicated there is no special visa category for “humanitarian relief”.
